Technical Support & Implementation Specialist
You help customers set up DATEV access and troubleshoot the Connector, Gateway, and MCP. You work with customers, IT providers, and engineering until the problem is resolved.
Fixed annual salary for the specialist role, depending on experience and responsibilities.
What you will do
- Guide technical setup and diagnose connectivity, permission, and data-access issues.
- Use logs and simple API requests to identify whether a problem is in DATEV, Klardaten, or the connected application.
- Coordinate fixes with the customer and IT provider, then repeat the action that previously failed.
- Report product errors to engineering with steps to reproduce them and the relevant logs.
- Improve troubleshooting guides and share solutions with the team.
After three months
- You independently handle common installations and technical support cases.
- You explain the next step to customers and give engineering enough information to investigate product errors.
- Your documented solutions help colleagues resolve recurring issues.
Required skills
This role could suit you if you work as an IT specialist, at a DATEV IT provider, or in technical support for business software.
- Experience resolving technical support cases for business customers or carrying out software implementations independently.
- A structured approach to troubleshooting and confidence reading logs.
- Understanding of Windows users, services, and permissions; ability to use documented HTTP/API requests and read JSON responses.
- Business-fluent German for customer communication and good English.
- You follow up on open cases and handle customer access and information carefully.
Useful experience
- Installing, administering, or troubleshooting DATEV environments, including SmartIT or DATEVasp.
- Application support or implementation for ERP, accounting, or document-management software.
- Experience with MCP clients, authentication, or small scripts for diagnostics.
Optional team leadership
With team leadership: €70,000–90,000 gross/year
If you have trained colleagues and improved support processes, you can also lead the team. Alongside customer cases, you assign work, review how cases are handled, and train new colleagues. Mention in your application if you are interested.
